I wish I could tell the future…

What does my future hold? I want to see the future so bad sometimes I wish that I was a fortune teller.

Where am I going to be in the future? What am I going to do? Does God have big plans for me? Thoughts like this go through my mind as I look in the mirror every morning. I wonder how I got here, how is it that I was able to beat addiction yet others die. Why was I raised in a family that was there for me even in the darkest of times while other have no one to turn to? Then I remember what the answers is to all of these questions.

Dare I say it again, what does my future hold? God will direct my path. Where am I going to be in the future? God has prepared a place for me in heaven. What am I going to do? God called me to make disciples out of nations. Does God have big plans for me? Yes, God would have died on the cross for just one person. So even if I reach only one person and get them to see God, I have done big things. Why did I beat addiction and others died? Because God broke those chains, when I surrendered God showed His strength. All of these questions and every question you could ever ask are answered the same way.
So do you have a question? The answer lies in one place alone… God.

It is easy to get caught up in what lies before you in life. It is so easy to wish that you were someplace else. Anywhere else in fact. But while you are so busy focusing on the future you are missing out on the present. God has something in store for you right where you are. Look around God knows where you are and there is a reason you are there. I get that your situation may seem bleak and dark. You may be in a place that is completely horrible. You may say to yourself, “If there is a God why am I here…?” That is a fair question to ask… so I leave you with this.

Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

strengthIf you do not let your light shine people will be left in the dark. You may be in a place of darkness but it is the light that is inside of you that will help you get out. He (God) who is in you is greater than He who is in the world.
